Little Acts of Love

By November 27, 2020January 8th, 2021Mary's Meals

Mary's mealsDid you see  “Love Reaches Everywhere” at the conference? The title “Love Reaches Everywhere” was inspired by words Ellen created for a Mary’s Meals t-shirt.

Whether you saw it or not, it is worth watching again for a spiritual and joyful boost as you head into Advent. You will find it at the end of this post.

What you may not realize is how Mary’s Meals and the Christ Our Life Conference became so closely aligned.

A few years before the first Christ Our Life Conference, co-founders Ellen Miller and Marilyn Lane met Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje and heard his story. The Holy Spirit instantly moved them both and they found themselves inviting Magnus to the first Christ Our Life Conference in 2010.

It was during this conference that Ellen’s son Mike heard Magnus’ message for the first time, Mike’s words to Ellen were “Mom, it’s so easy to do something!” This phrase echoed in her heart and motivated her to get involved. Mike began working for Mary’s Meals 9 years ago and is is now living in Malawi with his wife and 3 children. Ellen’s continues her ministry of creating awareness and raising money.

Last year Ellen & some friends started Heartland for Kids.  This ministry supports Mary’s Meals through the purchase of t-shirts and fundraising events.

It’s so easy to make a real difference in the lives of children in the world’s poorest communities. The purchase of one t-shirt will feed a child for an entire year! You can even make a bigger difference by inviting Ellen to your church, your youth group, club, or charitable organization to tell the amazing story of Mary’s Meals.

“My walk with Mary’s Meals has changed my life and given me perspective and passion to celebrate how our ‘Little Acts of Love’ truly make a difference”.
~ Ellen Miller
